Abbey Walks provides free walk details, maps and GPS co-ordinated routes. Walk in the historic footsteps of monks as they travelled around England and France.

Prior to Abbey Walks these ancient footpaths had been lost in time as well as being concreted and tarmaced over as a result of urban sprawl. Using historical references and modern footpaths these ancient walking routes have been resurrected for today’s walkers to follow.  Scroll down to read about our Walking Holiday Offer !

We have created a selection of walking routes that together form medium and long distance walks.  Check out our Walks page or use our Search Walks facility to find a route that captures your imagination.

Our walking routes can be treated as opportunities to walk in beautiful English countryside, or as pilgrimage routes enabling you to follow journeys made by monks in the 12-14th centuries.

Each route can be completed as a number of day walks, or for the more ambitious follow the brand new long distance path the St. Bernard's Way to France……and then to Rome !

Walking can be a dangerous sport.  Walkers should always be suitably equipped, including carrying and knowing how to use a map and compass.
